Solution briefSolution — Storefront glazing

Storefront Window Film

Storefront glazing is the hardest-working glass in the city. It sells the space, it heats the front of house, it fades the merchandise, and it is the first thing that gets broken or tagged.

Most Philadelphia storefront systems are monolithic glass with no solar control at all, which is why the first fifteen feet of a south or west frontage is unusable in July.

The front-of-house problem

The window tables nobody sits at, the queue line that is uncomfortable, the POS station with sun across the screen, the display that bakes — all the same cause. Solar control film reduces the gain at the glass line without touching the shopfront or losing a trading day.

Our regional multi-site retail and food-service work includes a McDonald's program of 20+ locations, largely installed at night around store operations.

02

Security and surface protection at street level

Where smash-and-grab is the concern, safety film retains the glass and slows entry — described as retention and delay, not prevention. Where scratch tagging and acid etching are recurring, anti-graffiti film turns a glass replacement into a film replacement.

Both are common on Philadelphia commercial corridors, and both are cheaper as a planned scope than as an emergency.

Storefront scope we handle

  • Solar control on south and west frontages
  • Daytime privacy on ground-floor office and clinic glass
  • Safety film for fragment retention on entrance glazing
  • Anti-graffiti surface protection on street-level lites
  • Decorative banding, manifestation and window graphics

Working around trading hours

Overnight and pre-opening installation is standard. For multi-site programs, one survey sets the product and appearance standard, and every location gets the same specification so the brand reads consistently across the market.

Common questions

Straight answers

Will film make the storefront look dark from the street?
That depends on the selection. Spectrally selective and ceramic products keep the glass looking largely clear; dual-reflective products change appearance and reduce daytime visibility into the space.
Can you install without losing trading hours?
Yes. Overnight and pre-opening installation is standard for retail and food service.
Can one visit cover multiple locations?
For multi-site programs we survey once to set the specification, then schedule each location around its own trading hours.

Next step

Send the glass, the elevation and the complaint.

Site survey for existing buildings, plan review for projects in design. Either way the first conversation is about the glass.
