What is 3M FASARA?
3M FASARA is a library of decorative architectural glass finishes: frosts, linens, rice papers, textures, geometrics and gradients applied to interior glass. It is specified as an applied finish and used where etched or sandblasted glass would otherwise be required, at lower cost and on a fit-out schedule.
Its commercial value is that it gives designers a material palette on glass that is already installed. On a tenant fit-out, changing the glass is a glazing package with lead times; changing the finish on the glass is a two-night job.
Detailing decides whether it reads as architecture. Band heights should follow seated and standing sightlines, seams should fall where they are least visible, and patterns need to align across adjacent lites and mullions.
Because it is diffusing rather than reflective, it provides privacy at all hours — the opposite of reflective film behavior.
Technical performance, service life and warranty terms come from current 3M documentation for the specific product and application. We attach those documents to proposals rather than paraphrase them.
