Applied film shows up in a specification in two places: as a performance requirement in the glazing section, and as a finish on interior glass. Both need a product that actually suits the glass being installed.
Send the drawings and the glass makeup and we will confirm compatibility before the section is issued.
We read the glazing schedule alongside the film requirement. Where a performance value is specified that the named film cannot achieve on the specified glass — or where thermal stress makes the combination unsuitable — we flag it and propose alternates with the manufacturer's data.
Performance values must tie to current manufacturer data for a stated glass configuration. We do not carry numbers across from a different assembly.
3M FASARA covers frosts, linens, textures, gradients and geometrics, and it is specified like any other applied finish: pattern, band height, seam strategy and alignment across mullions.
Samples on the actual glass are the only reliable way to evaluate a pattern. A small swatch reads nothing like a full-height lite.
What we can provide
On renovation work the glass is a survey finding, not a schedule entry. We field-verify construction, coatings and strengthening, then tell you which openings can carry the intended treatment and which cannot.
